一则本生故事，讲述一只走失的母山羊试图以巧言安抚一头豹子，终究还是被吞食，用以对照大目犍连在山中茅屋附近所见的另一只母山羊，她面对豹子时纵身跃过其身而成功逃脱。

A Jātaka about a stray goat devoured by a panther despite her attempts to pacify it with flattering words, told of a different she-goat, seen by Mahā-Moggallāna near his mountain hut, who instead leapt over a panther and escaped.
