一则本生故事，讲一头国王的母象年轻时忠心效力备受礼遇，年老后却被剥夺一切尊荣，沦为替陶匠拉粪车的苦力，直到她跪伏在身为大臣的菩萨脚前无声恳求，菩萨才为她说情恢复了昔日待遇，此事讲的是优填王自己那头同样在年老后遭冷落、最终向佛陀申诉的母象。

A Jātaka about a king’s she-elephant who, after years of devoted service, is stripped of her honours in old age and set to hauling a potter’s dung-cart, until she appeals wordlessly to the Bodhisatta as minister by falling at his feet and has her status restored, told about King Udena’s own aging elephant, similarly neglected until she complained to the Buddha.
