一則本生故事，講一頭國王的母象年輕時忠心效力備受禮遇，年老後卻被剝奪一切尊榮，淪為替陶匠拉糞車的苦力，直到她跪伏在身為大臣的菩薩腳前無聲懇求，菩薩才為她說情恢復了昔日待遇，此事講的是優填王自己那頭同樣在年老後遭冷落、最終向佛陀申訴的母象。

A Jātaka about a king’s she-elephant who, after years of devoted service, is stripped of her honours in old age and set to hauling a potter’s dung-cart, until she appeals wordlessly to the Bodhisatta as minister by falling at his feet and has her status restored, told about King Udena’s own aging elephant, similarly neglected until she complained to the Buddha.
