Dabbhapuppha Jātaka
Jātaka一緒に捕まえた魚をめぐる二匹のカワウソの争いを裁くよう頼まれたジャッカルが、それぞれに頭と尾を与え、上質な中央部分を自分のために取っておくという本生譚で、比丘ウパナンダが二人の長老の間で同様に私利をはかる裁定を下したことに関連して説かれた。
A birth story about a jackal who, asked to arbitrate a dispute between two otters over a fish they caught together, gives each the head and tail while keeping the choice middle portion for himself, told in reference to the monk Upananda’s similarly self-serving arbitration between two elders.
