Bản kinh kể việc Đức Phật, khi nhận tấm y do dưỡng mẫu Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī dệt, xin bà thay vào đó cúng dường cho Tăng đoàn để được nhiều công đức hơn, rồi giải thích các loại bố thí, người cho, người nhận và các mức độ thanh tịnh giữa họ.

A discourse in which the Buddha, receiving a robe woven by his foster-mother Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī, asks her to offer it to the Order instead for greater merit, then explains the various kinds of gifts, givers, and recipients and the degrees of purity among them.
