ကျောင်းသား သူငယ်ချင်း နှစ်ဦးအကြောင်း ဇာတ်ကြောင်းဖြစ်ပြီး၊ တစ်ဦးမှာ ဗာရာဏသီ ဘုရင်ဖြစ်လာပြီး၊ အခြားတစ်ဦးမှာ တိတ်ဆိတ်စွာ တစ်ကိုယ်တည်း ဗောဓိဉာဏ်ရရှိကာ လောကမှ ဆုတ်ခွာသွားသည်။ နှစ်ပေါင်းများစွာကြာသောအခါ ဗောဓိဉာဏ်ရရှိသော သူငယ်ချင်းက ယခုအခါ မေ့လျော့နေသော ဘုရင်ထံ လာရောက်လည်ပတ်ပြီး စွန့်လွှတ်ခြင်းအကြောင်းကို သင်ကြားပေးသည်။ ဗုဒ္ဓ ကိုယ်တိုင်၏ စွန့်လွှတ်ခြင်းနှင့် ဆက်စပ်၍ ဟောကြားခဲ့သည်။

A Jātaka about two student friends, one of whom becomes a king in Bārāṇasī while the other quietly attains solitary enlightenment and withdraws from the world; decades later the enlightened friend visits the now-forgetful king and teaches him renunciation, told in connection with the Buddha’s own renunciation.
