ラーマ叙事詩のある異本を語り直す本生話で、ダサラタ王の長子ラーマ、ラッカナ、シーターは策略をめぐらす継母から守るため森へ追放され、弟バラタはラーマの草履を象徴的な摂政として掲げつつラーマが帰還するまで統治する。

A birth-story retelling a version of the Rāma epic, in which King Dasaratha’s eldest children Rāma, Lakkhaṇa and Sītā go into forest exile to protect them from a scheming stepmother, while Rāma’s brother Bharata rules in his stead using his sandals as a symbolic regent until Rāma returns to reign.
