Person仏陀のいとこで、サキヤ族スッパブッダの子として生まれ、アヌピヤーで出家したが、のちに仏陀の名声に嫉妬し、僧伽の指導権を奪おうと企てた。
A cousin of the Buddha, son of the Sakyan Suppabuddha, who entered the Order at Anupiyā but later grew jealous of the Buddha’s fame and attempted to seize leadership of the Saṅgha.
