富のために民を虐げていたラージャガハのバラモン大臣で、サーリプッタから正義について訓戒を受け、臨終の際にはサーリプッタによって梵天界との合一へと導かれたが、仏陀はその下位の世界の一つに転生したと語った

A brahmin minister of Rājagaha who oppressed the people for wealth until Sāriputta admonished him on righteousness, and who, on his deathbed, was guided by Sāriputta toward union with a Brahma-world, though the Buddha said he was reborn in one of its lower realms.
