삭까(Sakka)가 전장의 두려움을 물리치려 자기 군대에게 자신의 깃발 꼭대기를 바라보라고 말한 경으로, 두려움을 극복하려 불법승의 덕을 상기하는 비구에 비유되었으며, 후에 호신 게송으로 쓰였다.

A discourse in which Sakka tells his army to look upon his banner-crest to dispel fear in battle, likened to a monk recalling the virtues of the Buddha, Dhamma, and Saṅgha to overcome fear, later used as a protective chant.
