パセーナディ王が仏を最後に訪れた際、弟子たちに見られる規律と喜びに深い敬意を示した様子を記す経で、仏はこの出会いを法の効果の記念碑と呼び、王が退位後まもなく亡くなったことがこれをいっそう痛切なものにしている。
