ဟိမဝန္တာတွင် ဖမ်းဆီးခံရပြီး ကျင့်ထားသူများထံမှ ထွက်ပြေးလွတ်ခဲ့သော ဆင်တစ်ကောင်သည် အမြဲ ကြောက်လန့်နေရာ၊ သစ်ပင်နတ်ဖြစ်သော ဘုရားလောင်းက ကြောက်ရွံ့မှုကို ဖျောက်ဖျက်ပေးခဲ့သည့် ဇာတ်လမ်း၊ သေခြင်းကို အမြဲကြောက်ရွံ့နေသော ရဟန်းတစ်ပါးနှင့် ခိုင်းနှိုင်းပြီး ထိုရဟန်းသည် ဆင်၏ ရှေးဘဝဖြစ်သည်။

A Jātaka about an elephant, captured in the Himavā and later escaping its trainers, who lives in constant terror until the Bodhisatta, as a tree-spirit, dispels its fear, told in reference to a monk perpetually afraid of death, identified with the elephant.
