Dubbalakaṭṭha Jātaka
Jātaka本生故事,一头大象在喜马拉雅山被捕、后逃脱驯象师而躲入山中,终日惊惧,直到身为树神的菩萨为它解除恐惧,用以譬喻一位常年惧死的比丘,此比丘即是大象的前身。
A Jātaka about an elephant, captured in the Himavā and later escaping its trainers, who lives in constant terror until the Bodhisatta, as a tree-spirit, dispels its fear, told in reference to a monk perpetually afraid of death, identified with the elephant.
