Dubbalakaṭṭha Jātaka
Jātaka本生故事,一頭大象在喜馬拉雅山被捕、後逃脫馴象師而躲入山中,終日驚懼,直到身為樹神的菩薩為它解除恐懼,用以譬喻一位常年懼死的比丘,此比丘即是大象的前身。
A Jātaka about an elephant, captured in the Himavā and later escaping its trainers, who lives in constant terror until the Bodhisatta, as a tree-spirit, dispels its fear, told in reference to a monk perpetually afraid of death, identified with the elephant.
