一則本生故事，講一位仁慈的婆羅門從井中打水為一隻口渴的猴子解渴，猴子卻齜牙咧嘴威嚇他，還朝他頭上排糞後逃走，這隻忘恩負義的猴子後被指認為提婆達多的前生，那位婆羅門則是佛陀自己的前生。

A Jātaka about a kind brahmin who draws water from a well to quench a thirsty monkey’s thirst, only for the monkey to grimace threateningly and drop dung on his head before fleeing, with the ungrateful monkey later identified as an earlier life of Devadatta and the brahmin as the Buddha himself.
