A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, born as King Brahmadatta of Bārāṇasī, deters his subjects from immoral conduct by proclaiming a vow to sacrifice all wrongdoers.

菩薩が王の寵愛する国宝の象として生まれ、嫉妬深い王の殺害計画を逃れて自らの象使いが別の王国を得るのを助けるジャータカで、この物語は仏陀に対するデーヴァダッタの嫉妬を示すもの。
