බෝසතාණන් වහන්සේ බරණැස බ්‍රහ්මදත්ත රජු ලෙස උපත ලබා, වැරදිකරුවන් සියල්ලන්ම පූජා කරන බවට පොරොන්දුවක් ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමෙන් තම ප්‍රජාවන් අනාචාරයෙන් වළක්වන ජාතක කථාවකි.

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, born as King Brahmadatta of Bārāṇasī, deters his subjects from immoral conduct by proclaiming a vow to sacrifice all wrongdoers.

බෝසතාණන් වහන්සේ රජෙකුගේ ප්‍රියතම රාජකීය ඇතා ලෙස උපත ලබා, ඊර්ෂ්‍යාකාර රජෙකුගේ ඝාතන කුමන්ත්‍රණයෙන් ගැලවී තම මාවතාට තවත් රාජ්‍යයක් ලබා ගැනීමට උදව් කරන ජාතක කථාවකි. මෙම කථාව බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේට එරෙහි දේවදත්තගේ ඊර්ෂ්‍යාව නිදර්ශනය කරයි.
