니간타 삿짜까가 붓다와의 논쟁에서 패하는 것을 목격하고 그를 연못에서 끌려나와 마을 소년들에게 학대받는 게에 비유한 리차비족 족장. 주석에 따르면 그의 이름은 못생겼다는 뜻이지만 실제로는 상당히 잘생긴 사람이었다고 한다.
