앗타닷시 부처님 시대에 많은 추종자를 거느린 고행자로서 부처님을 찾아뵙고 그 머리 위에 흰 일산을 받쳐 들었던 아라한. 훗날 신들의 왕으로 살았고 인간의 왕이 되기를 천 번이나 하였다.
