Personවිපස්සී බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ කාලයේ අතිශය දුප්පත් බ්රාහ්මණයෙක්; බිරිඳ සමඟ පමණක් බෙදාගත් වස්ත්රයක් හිමි වූ ඔහු, ප්රීතිමත් දානශීලීත්වයේ මොහොතක උන් වහන්සේට එය පිළිගැන්වූ අතර, ධනය හා රාජකීය පුරෝහිත තනතුර ලබා ත්යාග ලැබීය.
