ヴェッサブー仏の弟子であるカンダという僧に食事を施したアラハントで、後にヴァルナという王であった。最後の生でこの布施を思い出したため、エーカサンニャカと呼ばれた。

An arahant who gave a meal to a monk named Khaṇḍa, a disciple of Vessabhū Buddha, and who was later a king named Varuṇa; he was called Ekasaññaka because in his final life he recalled this act of giving.

三十一劫前に森の中で見た捨てられた糞掃衣を礼拝し、二十五劫前にはアミターバという名の王であったアラハント。

An arahant who, thirty-one world-cycles ago, worshipped a discarded rag-robe he saw hanging in the forest, and who twenty-five world-cycles ago was a king named Amitābha.
