සැවැත්නුවර ගිහි ගැත්තා දත්ත ලෙස සිටියදී නොදැනුවත්වම මව හා සොහොයුරිය සමඟ ලිංගික සම්බන්ධතාවක් ඇති කර ගැනීම නිසා දැඩි වේදනාවට පත් වූ අතර, ගංගා තෙර වසර ගණනාවක් නිශ්ශබ්ද තපසින් පසු බුද්ධත්වයට පත් වූ රහතන් වහන්සේ.
