Un adepte des Nigaṇṭhā à Sāvatthī, imitant une ruse que son ami Sirigutta avait jouée à leurs maîtres, tenta d’humilier le Bouddha avec une fosse de charbons ardents, mais vit le Bouddha la transformer en bassin de lotus et se convertit lui-même à la place.

A resident of Sāvatthi and follower of the Nigaṇṭhā who, imitating a trick his friend Sirigutta had played on their teachers, tried to humiliate the Buddha with a pit of burning coals, only to see the Buddha turn it into a bed of lotus flowers and convert him instead.
