舍卫城一位尼干子教（Nigaṇṭhā）信徒，效法好友尸利笈多（Sirigutta）曾对其师所设的陷阱，挖坑填满炭火意图羞辱佛陀，佛陀却令坑中涌现莲花，反使他归信证得须陀洹果。

A resident of Sāvatthi and follower of the Nigaṇṭhā who, imitating a trick his friend Sirigutta had played on their teachers, tried to humiliate the Buddha with a pit of burning coals, only to see the Buddha turn it into a bed of lotus flowers and convert him instead.
