バーラーナシー王として生まれた菩薩で、後宮で不品行を働いた大臣を追放した。その大臣はサーヴァッティのワンカ王をそそのかして侵攻させ菩薩を投獄させたが、焼けるような病がワンカを苦しめ、彼を釈放して王位を戻さざるを得なくさせた。

The Bodhisatta, born king of Bārāṇasī, who banished a minister caught misbehaving in the royal harem; the minister incited King Vaṅka of Sāvatthi to invade and imprison him, but a burning affliction forced Vaṅka to release him and restore his throne.
