本生故事，重述另一則條目中的故事，用以譬喻憍薩羅國王的一位大臣因讒言所害入獄，獄中證得初果，出獄後佛陀為他講述此本生，阿難即是故事中一位國王的前身。

A Jātaka retelling an earlier story, applied here to a minister of the Kosalan king who was imprisoned through slanderers’ influence, attained the first stage of awakening while in prison, and on release was told this tale by the Buddha, Ānanda being identified with a king in the story.
