ハゲワシの群れに生まれた菩薩の本生譚。ある商人が嵐から群れを守った後、菩薩は感謝の印として商人の庭に宝飾品を落とさせた。貧しい両親への感謝を表す比丘を称えるために説かれた。

A birth-story of the Bodhisatta born among vultures who, after a merchant sheltered his flock from a storm, arranged for jewellery to be dropped in the merchant’s garden as thanks, told to praise a monk’s gratitude toward his poor parents.

ハゲワシに生まれた菩薩の本生譚。強壮なハゲワシ王である息子は父の警告を無視して高く飛びすぎ、猛烈な風に叩き落とされて死んだ。教えを恨む不従順な比丘に関連して説かれた。

A birth-story of the Bodhisatta as a vulture whose strong son, king of the vultures, ignored his father’s warning, flew too high, and was dashed to death by fierce winds, told in reference to a disobedient monk who resented instruction.
