독수리 무리 속에 태어난 보살의 본생담. 한 상인이 폭풍우로부터 무리를 지켜준 후, 감사의 뜻으로 상인의 정원에 보석을 떨어뜨리게 했다. 가난한 부모에게 감사하는 한 비구를 칭찬하기 위해 설해졌다.

A birth-story of the Bodhisatta born among vultures who, after a merchant sheltered his flock from a storm, arranged for jewellery to be dropped in the merchant’s garden as thanks, told to praise a monk’s gratitude toward his poor parents.

독수리로 태어난 보살의 본생담. 힘센 독수리 왕인 아들이 아버지의 경고를 무시하고 너무 높이 날다가 거센 바람에 부딪혀 죽었다. 가르침을 원망하는 불복종한 비구와 관련하여 설해졌다.
