頻毘娑羅王祭司之子，出家後一度被國王遺忘而露宿荒野，直至國王為其建造精舍，終證阿羅漢果，後來他患病時，佛陀曾令阿難為他誦說無常等十種觀想以作開示。

The son of King Bimbisāra’s chaplain who, after being forgotten and left to live in the open until the king built him a hermitage, became an Arahant, and for whom, when later ill, the Buddha had Ānanda recite the ten perceptions of impermanence and related contemplations.
