王舎城に新しく到着した粗野な森の比丘に気づいたサーリプッタが、荒野に住む比丘が共同生活に入る際に守るべき義務を集会に説き、村の比丘たちも同じ基準を守るべきだとマハー・モッガラーナに確認したという経典である。

A discourse in which Sāriputta, noticing an uncouth forest monk newly arrived at Rājagaha, teaches the assembly the duties a wilderness-dwelling monk should observe on entering communal life, and confirms to Mahā-Moggallāna that village monks are held to the same standard.
