一則本生故事，講一條誤入漁籠的水蛇被魚群咬得遍體鱗傷後逃出，問一隻青蛙魚群這樣對待他是否應當，青蛙答道這不過是以其人之道還治其人之身，魚群聞言便徹底解決了這條蛇，此事講述阿闍世王在與波斯匿王交戰中隨戰局勝負而或喜或憂的情緒波動。

A Jātaka about a wounded water snake, bitten by fish after straying into their trap, who asks a frog whether the fish were right to attack him, only to be told they were merely repaying in kind what he would do to them, provoking the fish to finish him off, told about King Ajātasattu’s shifting moods of elation and despair through his war with Pasenadi.
