国王 Devānampiyatissa 为僧伽蜜多所建的一座尼寺，因邻近国王御象拴系处而得名；寺院后因 Anurādhapura 城墙扩建，部分地界被划出城外。

A nunnery built by King Devānampiyatissa for Saṅghamittā, named for its location near where the state elephant was tethered, whose grounds later straddled the expanded city wall of Anurādhapura.
