國王 Devānampiyatissa 為僧伽蜜多所建的一座尼寺，因鄰近國王御象拴系處而得名；寺院後因 Anurādhapura 城牆擴建，部分地界被劃出城外。

A nunnery built by King Devānampiyatissa for Saṅghamittā, named for its location near where the state elephant was tethered, whose grounds later straddled the expanded city wall of Anurādhapura.
