Jambuka Jātaka
Jātaka本生故事,一只豺狼投靠身为菩萨的狮子为仆,因骄矜自恃不听狮子劝阻,执意攻击大象而被踩死,豺狼即是提婆达多的前身。
A Jātaka in which a jackal serves a lion as the Bodhisatta and, growing overconfident, insists on attacking an elephant against the lion’s warning and is trampled to death, the jackal being identified with Devadatta.
