Jambuka Jātaka
Jātaka本生故事,一隻豺狼投靠身為菩薩的獅子為僕,因驕矜自恃不聽獅子勸阻,執意攻擊大象而被踩死,豺狼即是提婆達多的前身。
A Jātaka in which a jackal serves a lion as the Bodhisatta and, growing overconfident, insists on attacking an elephant against the lion’s warning and is trampled to death, the jackal being identified with Devadatta.
