雁の王であるボーディサッタが太陽と競走し、無謀な若い雁二羽を救い、その後Bārāṇasī王に、命の急速な衰えは自分の速さすら凌ぐと教える本生譚。

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, king of geese, outraces the sun to save two reckless young geese and then teaches the king of Bārāṇasī that the swift decay of life outpaces even his own speed.
