ชาดกเกี่ยวกับนักพรต พระโพธิสัตว์ ผู้ซึ่งคำพูดสุดท้ายก่อนมรณะว่า “ไม่ใช่มีสัญญาและไม่ใช่ไม่มีสัญญา” ถูกตีความอย่างถูกต้องโดยศิษย์เอกของท่าน แต่ศิษย์คนอื่นไม่เชื่อ จนกระทั่งพระโพธิสัตว์เสด็จลงจากพรหมโลกเพื่อยืนยันคำอธิบายนั้น เล่าเกี่ยวโยงกับคำอธิบายที่พระสารีบุตรให้ไว้ที่สังกัสสะ

A Jātaka about an ascetic, the Bodhisatta, whose dying words ‘neither conscious nor unconscious’ were correctly interpreted by his chief disciple but disbelieved by the others, until the Bodhisatta descended from the Brahma-world to confirm the explanation — told in reference to an interpretation given by Sāriputta at Saṅkassa.
