悪戯者の猿カーラバーフに宮廷の関心を奪われる二匹のオウムの兄弟についての本生譚で、子どもたちが猿のいたずらを恐れるようになり、兄弟の一人が予見していた通り猿は追い出されるという話であり、提婆達多が象ナーラーギリで仏陀の命を狙った企てに関連して説かれた。

A birth story about two parrot brothers who lose the royal court’s attention to a mischievous monkey named Kālabāhu, until the children grow frightened of the monkey’s tricks and it is sent away just as one brother had foreseen, told in reference to Devadatta’s attempt on the Buddha’s life with the elephant Nāḷāgiri.
