此经讲述 Kāmabhū 在 Kosambī 问阿难：究竟是根系缚境，还是境系缚根？阿难答道，真正的系缚是由根境相触而生的贪欲；后来舍利弗也以同样的解答回应了大拘絺罗提出的相同问题。

A discourse in which Kāmabhū asks Ānanda at Kosambī whether the senses bind their objects or objects bind the senses, and is told that the true bond is the desire and lust arising from their contact — the same question Sāriputta later answers for Mahā-Koṭṭhika.
