ドゥッタガーマニ王の御用象で、チャッダンタ族の血統。王の軍事遠征の全期間仕え、一騎打ちで敵王エーラーラの象を戦闘不能にした。

The state elephant of King Duṭṭhagāmaṇī, of the Chaddanta race, who served him throughout his military campaigns and disabled the elephant of the rival king Eḷāra in single combat.

後にカンドゥラと名付けられる捨てられた象を発見し、王にその発見を報告した漁師。

The fisherman who discovered the abandoned elephant later named Kaṇḍula and reported the find to the king.
