A Jātaka about the ascetic Dīpāyana, who acquired the epithet Kaṇha (black) from bloodstains after his friend Maṇḍabya was wrongly impaled, and who later healed a boy dying of snakebite by an Act of Truth alongside the boy’s own repentant parents.
