A king who, in a former life, was Bāvarī the brahmin teacher; originally a master carpenter of Bārāṇasī, he led his fellow craftsmen to found a new kingdom in the Himalayan foothills and became its first ruler.

波罗奈国王，即菩萨前生，为梵授王（Brahmadatta）与一位在林中拾柴时被王邂逅并纳为妃的女子所生之子，事见《拾薪本生》。
