Kajaṅgala
Place仏教の中国(マッジマ・デーサ)の東の境界を示す町で、繁栄した場所と描写され、後世の伝承ではナーガセーナ長老の生誕地とされる。
A township marking the eastern boundary of the Buddhist Middle Country, described as a prosperous place and, in later tradition, the birthplace of the elder Nāgasena.
カジャンガラの比丘尼で、村人たちが仏陀の与えた簡潔な教えを詳しく説明するよう頼んだとき、見事に説き明かしたため、それを聞いた仏陀から大いに称賛された。
A nun of Kajaṅgala who, when villagers asked her to elaborate on a brief teaching the Buddha had given, expounded it so well that the Buddha, on hearing of it, praised her highly.
