칼야니 성지에 딸린 승원으로, 수 세기 동안 저명한 비구들이 머물렀으며 비자야바후 3세에 의해 복원되었고, 훗날 버마에서 보낸 승려들이 이곳에서 구족계를 받을 만큼 명성이 높아졌다.

A monastery attached to the Kalyāṇi shrine that housed eminent monks through the centuries, was restored by King Vijayabāhu III, and later became so prestigious that monks sent from Burma received their ordination there.
