ကလျာဏီ ဘုရားကျောင်းနှင့် ဆက်စပ်နေသော ကျောင်းတိုက်ဖြစ်ပြီး၊ ရာစုနှစ်များစွာတိုင် ထင်ရှားသော ရဟန်းတော်ကြီးများ နေထိုင်ခဲ့ကာ၊ ဝိဇယဗာဟု တတိယ မင်းကြီးမှ ပြန်လည် ပြုပြင်ခဲ့သည်။ နောင်တွင် ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာ မြင့်မားလှသဖြင့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှ စေလွှတ်လိုက်သော ရဟန်းများပင် ဤနေရာတွင် ဥပသမ္ပဒါခံယူခဲ့ကြသည်။

A monastery attached to the Kalyāṇi shrine that housed eminent monks through the centuries, was restored by King Vijayabāhu III, and later became so prestigious that monks sent from Burma received their ordination there.
