Kandagalaka Jātaka
Jātaka一则本生故事,讲一只啄木鸟与好友 Kandagalaka 共享金合欢林中的食物,后者却因骄傲不听劝告独自啄食树干、折喙身亡,是佛陀就提婆达多效仿佛陀终致自毁一事所说。
A birth story about a woodpecker who shares food from an acacia wood with his friend Kandagalaka, who grows proud and, ignoring warnings, pecks at a trunk on his own until he breaks his beak and dies, told in reference to Devadatta’s self-destructive attempts to imitate the Buddha.
