형 아만다가마니아바야를 살해하고 왕위를 찬탈한 스리랑카 왕으로, 배신한 비구 예순 명을 던져 넣었던 동굴에서 그 이름을 얻었다고 전해진다.

A king of Sri Lanka who seized the throne by killing his elder brother Āmaṇḍagāmaṇī-Abhaya, and who is said to owe his name to a cave into which he had sixty traitorous monks cast.
