은둔자의 가사로 위장한 원숭이를 알아채고 쫓아낸 숲속 고행자로서의 보살 이야기. 위선적인 비구와 관련하여 이야기되었다.

The Bodhisatta as a forest ascetic who recognised and drove away a monkey that had disguised itself in an anchorite’s robe, a story told with reference to a hypocritical monk.

보살과 데바닷타가 모두 원숭이로 태어난 이야기. 데바닷타와 동일시되는 짓궂은 원숭이가 경고를 듣지 않아, 후에 다른 많은 원숭이들과 함께 지방을 얻으려는 왕의 궁수들에게 죽임을 당했다. 데바닷타가 땅에 삼켜지는 운명과 관련하여 이야기되었다.
