佛陀在那烂陀对居士坚固所说的一部经，拒绝其请求以神通取信于人，转而讲述一位比丘遍寻诸天亦无法得知四大灭尽之处、终须求教于佛陀本人的譬喻。

A discourse at Nāḷandā in which the Buddha refuses a householder’s request to authorize a miracle to win converts, instead relating the parable of a monk who searches the heavens in vain for where the elements cease, only to learn the answer from the Buddha himself.
