一位長老，林中修行證得阿羅漢果；一次入定時被一夥盜賊誤認作樹樁，將贓物堆放其身上而不自知，因而得名 Khāṇu（「樹樁」）。

A thera who attained Arahantship in the forest and, while absorbed in meditation, was mistaken for a tree stump by a gang of thieves who piled their loot on him, earning him the name Khāṇu (‘stump’).
